Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born on March 17, 1988) is professionally known as Grimes is a Canadian singer, musician, writer, and record producer. Her range of her early music has been called "lo lo R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". She has also included elements of hip-hop electronic, and rock. She is often incorporating science fiction as well as feminist themes in her songs. The band has released five albums. Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver but moved to Montreal in 2000. Grimes started releasing her music as a solo act from the mid 2000s. There were 2 albums that were issued by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa in the year 2010. After joining 4AD her popularity grew with fame through Visions, her fourth studio album. Visions contains the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and won she an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album received high marks from the press and critics, while many newspapers voted for it to be the best album of the year. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). In addition to music, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge for the music competition game series Alter Ego. Georges Georges Georges
