Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently is a competitor within the UFC flyweight division. Valentina is her younger sister, and also a UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko first began combat sports as an Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous verdict. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her impressive striking ability at the end of the fight by using knees on the body. Antonina accepted an UFC deal following her win. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modeafferi by a unanimous decision. But, she fell in her second bout due to an unanimous verdict. Antonina recovered from this loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko has a record of 1-2 during her subsequent three matches, winning over Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee.
